Not Bland / by Emily Ellis

I'm so grateful to the beautiful Bland family for letting me share some of their session here (half of it). Pictures from a very windy, smoky last Sunday in Orange. (Mount Canobolas was burning).

I was so glad to meet them. They brought such a happy energy. I loved that the teenagers didn't bat an eyelid when I told them to go dance in the trees.

I've no idea if it's just me who "feels" these photographs. And whether it's my image, or the memory of being there. Whichever way, these are treasures, and I'm not going to overthink about it.

Aaaaaand I'm crossing all of my fingers and toes that Torsten still lets me hold him like this (above). That he still closes his eyes, and knows how much he's loved, even when he's a brand new high-schooler.
